Many people have difficulty distinguishing between sales and marketing so we'll provide a bit of clarification. Marketing is responsible for bringing 'potential clients' or 'sales leads' to a company. The company has a better chance of selling to you if they know about you and you know about them, but just knowing about each other doesn't mean a sale will actually take place. The introduction of the potential buyer to the company is a referral which normally generates a small payment or referral fee. Referral fees are generally smaller than sales commissions because a potential customer doesn't have as much value for the company as an actual paying customer.
A sale, on the other hand, is far more valuable to a company than a referral which only represents a potential sale. That's why sales commissions tend to be larger than referral fees.
REBIN Group International, Inc. offers both referral fees and sales commissions for almost everything we sell. When you introduce someone to our network and they become a client, you will receive a referral fee from every purchase they make. When they are an active member in the network, you will receieve a small portion of the membership dues every month they are a member. When we have programs that offer rent for our clients, you will receive a small referral fee every month a tenant you refer pays their rent on time and in full.
If someone you refer becomes a vendor, and they start offering sales commissions to people who sell their product or service, you will receive a small referral fee for every sale they make even if you didn't refer the buyer simply because you referred the vendor.
Clearly, when you refer someone to our network, while you may only receive a small referral fee from their network membership, as long as they continue to be a member of the network and continue to make purchases (and in some cases offer products or services), your referral fees can build up to a fairly large and steady amount over time (over the lifetime of the client).
In the case where sales commissions are available, you will have to be trained to be a sales person for the specific product or service offering you'd like to represent since sales is a far different skill set than simply referring people.
We also want to be clear on the timeliness of the payment of the affiliate referral fees and sales commissions. In many cases we offer a money back guarantee or we don't bill our clients unless they are satisfied with the work provided (100% Satisfaction Guarantee). In cases like that, for obvious reasons, we don't release payments to our affiliates and sales people until we have been paid ourselves.
