“Enlightened Prosperity”
Introduction
We are raising initial capital to create a Not-For-Profit Corporation. The proposed name of the business is “Enlightened Prosperity”.
Its mission is to “Empower Marginalized, At Risk and Vulnerable People by making resources accessible”.
Once established, it will be registered for charitable status so it can issue charitable donation receipts for income tax purposes.
While services and resources will be available to the general population, some will be targeted to serve specific groups of Marginalized, At Risk and Vulnerable People. This means we'll be giving priority consideration for access to resources and services based on the demographic group and circumstance of the applicant. For example, a low income single parent will be given priority access to child care / day care.
The goal is to help level the playing field and make it easier for disadvantaged people to gain access to the same resources that are more readily available to those with privilege. By removing barriers and obstacles we will be making it easier for them to live the life they desire. In all cases, our goal is to help our members increase income and reduce expenses.
- Education programs will be made available for free
- Hands on training programs and skills development opportunities will generally make it possible for participants to be paid for their involvement
- In most cases, a path will be made available so that individuals can receive the benefits of programs without taking money out of their own pockets and in some cases they will be paid

Client Demographics
As mentioned above, our offerings are open and available to everyone. This includes all gender identities, orientations, sexes and lifestyles. That said, our efforts will be focused on serving demographic groups that identify as marginalized, at risk or vulnerable. Accordingly, we will be addressing each group's specific needs through creating businesses, programs and projects.
5 Pillars
The business will be built on 5 pillars:
- Social Interaction and Relationship Building
- Personal Development
- Economic Development
- Environmental Initiatives
- Philanthropy
1. Social Interaction and Relationship Building:
This pillar is the most fun. It is what will be appealing to the majority of people. We'll be facilitating and / or hosting events, projects and programs that promote social interaction and relationship building for both business and pleasure. We'll also be making gathering space available.
Examples include but are not limited to:
- Social Events and Parties
- Dining Out, Brunch, Coffee...
- Meet & Greets
- Introductions and Connections
- Gatherings for People with Common Activity and Lifestyle Interests
- Videos and Movies
- Local Clubs
- Sporting Events and Swimming
- Arts and Entertainment
- Travel, Camping and Cruises
- Other Leisure Activities
- Business style clubs and gatherings as with “Business Networking International (BNI)” or “Toastmasters”
- Social clubs and gatherings such as “Movers and Shakers Social Club”, “Prime Timers”, “TransLTR” and “Poly Talk”
- Team Building Retreats
- Fund Raising Events
2. Personal Development:
The Personal Development pillar is powerful and empowering. For a lot of people, it's also a lot of fun and it's rewarding. Anything that can be classified as personal development can be included under this umbrella.
Examples of resources include but are not limited to areas related to:
- Education and Advancement of Knowledge
- Training and Skills Development
- Resource Library
- Financial Stability and Enhancement (Increase Income, Decrease Expenses, Wealth Building and Investing)
- Health and Wellness (Mental Health, Counseling, Facilitated Discussions, Memory, Sleep, Holistic Medicines, Emotional Freedom Technique, Mindfulness, Health Care, Health Insurance, Physical Health, Exercise and Weight Loss, Physical Activity and Safety and Security)
3. Economic Development:
This is basically a Proprietary Hybrid Business Incubator. Here we are starting For-Profit and Not-For-Profit Corporations. The goal is to create jobs and make resources available for our primary client base.
While most of our clients won't want to take part in starting and running these corporations, they will want to take advantage of many of the resources that are offered.
A few of the many resources we will create include:
- Affordable Housing
- 55+ Housing
- Assisted Living, Retirement Homes and CCRC's (Continuing Care Retirement Communities)
- Need Specific Housing
Implementation details are not provided here, but these projects will create jobs across Canada.
4. Environmental Initiatives:
When I was young, my dad taught me to always return borrowed items in the same condition or better than they were in when you borrowed them. That lesson can be expanded to refer to earth as a whole. It could be said we're only borrowing it from future generations. (Holding it in trust for our descendants.)
It is expected that only a very small percent of people will want to participate in projects and programs that target environmental causes. That said, it is possible for a few people to make a big difference.
Some of our initiatives are more attainable and more relevant (closer to home) than some others. For the really large initiatives, our focus will be fund raising for existing projects of other organizations.
Some of the areas where we'll invest our resources include:
- Energy Efficient Housing and Energy Efficiency
- Animals, Pets and Endangered Species
- Re-Forestation and Rain Forests
- Restoration of the Great Barrier Reef
- Global Warming and Climate Change (Greenhouse Gases, Restore the Ozone Layer, Rising Ocean Temperatures, Fossil Fuels and Alternative energies such as Wind, Solar, Hydro Electric, Geothermal...)
- Pollution Reduction (Air, Water, Landfills, Plastics in the Ocean, Recycling, Reduce and Reuse...)
5. Philanthropy:
Some would say this is the most important pillar. It refers to giving in all forms, especially the giving of time, knowledge and experience.
The mission is centered around helping, serving and empowering marginalized, at risk and vulnerable people. This includes addressing specific causes such as:
- Affordable Housing
- Living Wage
- Income Inequality
- Food Insecurity
- Mental Health such as PTSD and Suicide Prevention
- Homelessness
- Substance Abuse and Addiction
This pillar will be working toward ensuring the appropriate resources are available and attainable to those who need them. This includes directing clients to existing products and services and creating new ones.
In other words, this pillar is all about philanthropy and causes. We'll be creating Foundations, Non-Profits and Charities as required.
The business will be giving grants and scholarships. We'll be providing loans to first time home buyers and people who are starting businesses.
Sources of Funds
The business will finance its operations through a variety of funding sources. Some of these sources will be:
- Donations
- Crowd Funding
- Grants
- Sponsorships
- Fund Raising Events
- Sale of Products and Services
- Interest, Dividends and Capital Gains from Equity Ownership of Real Estate and Private or Public For-Profit Corporations and Securities
- Royalties
- Other Means if applicable
Uses of the Funds
- Salaries, Wages and Labour
- Operations
- Capital Expenditures
- Loans
- Grants and Scholarships
- Starting Share Corporations and Not-For-Profit Corporations
- Buying Real Estate for:
- Operations
- Income Properties
- Affordable Housing
